The rebuilding is over or so says Head Coach Gordon Scott. "(The playoffs) should always be your objective," Gordon said recently. "It doesn't matter whether you're a rebuilding team or the former Stanley Cup winner, that's got to be what all players want -- make it to the playoffs and win a Stanley Cup.”
With that said, the Islanders have improved their blue-line depth with the acquisitions of James Wisniewski, Mark Eaton and Milan Jurcina. Add that to the players already on the roster (Mark Streit, Jack Hillen and Andrew MacDonald) and the potential for a striking team is very evident.
